Schwanger in Kopenhagen?

Schwanger in Kopenhagen Profil.jpeg

Hallo werdende Mama!

Ich bin Nora.
Deine Doula in Kopenhagen.

  • When should I hire a doula?
At the beginning of your pregnancy it can be difficult to know exactly what you need. If you are considering hiring a doula, feel free to contact doulas early in your pregnancy and see if you are on the same wavelength. You can't hire a doula too soon. But not too late either. If you are already well advanced in your pregnancy and suddenly feel the need for more companionship, pursue it.
  • Why should I hire a doula?
Continuous support and care during pregnancy, birth and postpartum period Tailor-made birth preparation, tailored exactly to your birth wishes, so that you go into birth with confidence Independent support and care at your desired place of birth Guaranteed 1:1 care from a trusted person who gets to know you and your wishes during your pregnancy Active support for you and your partner or birth companion
  • Doesn't a doula disrupt an extremely intimate moment?
If you decide to take a doula with you to your birth, it will be based on your requirements. Maybe you want to be alone most of the time, and the doula should just be there as a backup - in the hallway or nearby. Maybe the doula is in the room but stays completely silent unless you or your partner asks her. Maybe you would like active support through acupressure, words, etc... Get to know your doula, get to know yourself and your wishes and make a plan together. The birth experience belongs to you as the woman giving birth and your partner.
  • What is the difference between a doula and a midwife?
Both the midwife and the doula aim to provide the pregnant woman with the best possible support. While the midwife has medical responsibility and focuses on the health of the mother and baby, the doula has the task of supporting and accompanying the mother emotionally, mentally and practically. Midwives examine mom and baby, doulas do not diagnose or make recommendations. With your doula you are guaranteed 1:1 care from a trusted person who you get to know in advance. You will meet the midwife for the first time at the birth and can change shifts depending on the length and time of the birth.
  • That all sounds great. But I don't need a doula.
This is one of the most common thoughts. I had one myself at the beginning of my pregnancy - and then it turned out to be the best investment. Because the birth of your child is the greatest thing we experience. And it shapes us so powerfully. Birth shapes us as moms and also as dads. Take care of your birth before it takes place. Many women regret not having sought more care afterwards. Both during pregnancy and birth. I don't know any woman who has regretted hiring a doula.
  • What is the role of a doula?
The doula's job is to support the woman and accompany her through the special time of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. The type of accompaniment is highly individual and depends on the needs of the woman. At the beginning of the relationship we find out together what form of support the mother or the couple needs. A doula does not work dogmatically and does not "prescribe" a certain way of breathing or dictate how a birth should take place. She accompanies the woman and the couple to find what works for them. A doula is not trained to make medical decisions. However, she knows the common interventions and is trained to convey them and thereby help the couple make informed decisions. It helps moms go through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period with confidence, trusting their body and their intuition.
  • How do I find the right doula for me?
You will experience the right doula as compassionate, passionate about the topics of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period, with the aim of always bringing you into your strength and encouraging you to listen to your intuition so that you can get to know and implement your wishes . Take the time to get to know a few doulas to choose who is right for you. When choosing a doula, you can ask questions such as: What is your background? How did she come to want to become a doula? What languages does she speak? What philosophy does she follow in supporting moms and dads? Can she help you create a birth plan/wish list? Where can you meet her? Does she come to your house or does she have a practice? Or maybe she works online? (Yes, there are online doulas too) What are your experiences with births and support during pregnancy and the postpartum period? Can she communicate with the clinic staff? But the most important thing is the wavelength and your gut feeling: Can you imagine that the doula accompanies you in your most intimate moments?
  • How much does your accompaniment cost?
We always start with a free introduction. The wishes and needs of expectant moms and dads are very individual and can change constantly. In our first conversation, we will find out your needs together and put together a companion that suits you. Maybe you're still unsure how much support you want before or after the birth.

*Quelle: Hodnett u.a.
